August Already and More Decorating!!

Saturday 1st August


Oh my goodness I cannot believe it is August already, where has this year gone? We (well Mike really) has started on room 3 of the decorating plan for the year and is in the process of clearing out the kitchen, getting it ready so he can do all of the prep and he is planning to do the painting etc next week.


The kitchen is not an easy one to do as it hasn't been done for 10 years (we couldn't believe it when we worked it out!!) so it really needs a big freshen up!! Also there is so much stuff in the kitchen and the furniture are big pieces so it puts the whole house into a state of confusion, so be it. As we say up t'North, can't make an omelette wi'out breakin' eggs!! So I guess we have about a week of disruption.


Mike has decided, purely his decision, not to put back his mugs. That is the 350 plus mugs that we had on a shelf all around the top of the kitchen. Mugs he has collected or has been given over the past 20 odd years. I remember us coming back from Ireland once with a collection of about 16 mugs he'd bought on that trip! He made the decision himself, I'm not saying I didn't jump at his offer when he made it!! So the mugs are going to stay in his Mum's garage until we have a larger house and he has his own room for his stuff. That will be the great luxury, that we can each have our own space to indulge our interests as well as having the family spaces too - it will happen.


Other than that just the same old, same old!!
