Kajagoogoo at Hobble on the Cobbles

Aylesbury Market Square

I got on with a little bit more course work this morning, Jamie was playing out with his friends and Mike was doing his thing too. Later on we went to Mike's Mums for Sunday lunch and then headed out to the Hobble on the Cobbles. The main act was Kajagoogoo (it really is a year for seeing all the 80's bands). We managed to grab a quick hello with Stuart one of the organisers and a Friars mate of Mike's and with Rick and Judy. We decided to have a drink at the Kings Head which was heaving and then wander back to the main square to watch Kaja.

Here are one or two pictures of the guys in action, above Nick Beggs with an unusual looking bass (Note - apparently it is a Chapman Stick a cross between a bass and a guitar played by Nick Beggs and most prominently Tony Levin from Peter Gabriel's band) and you can just make out that he is wearing his man-skirt. Below is Limahl looking pretty much as he did in the 80's. It was good fun, nice sunny weather and a good crowd. Jamie enjoyed it too but I took him off for a little wander just to make sure he didn't get bored.

They played all the songs you would have expected and some new stuff too, they did of course do Too Shy, their biggest hit and Never Ending Story from Limahl's solo catalogue. Great stuff.

Below Jez Strode.

Nick Beggs and Limahl.

After that we headed into deepest darkest Buckinghamshire, literally to collect some bits for the Friars site then we headed home and I did a little bit more course work. Well I have to press on now as everything has to be completed by 28th August.

Ciao

Sue
